Geology Field Trip
January 10: Volcan. All day trip to explore the Baru caldera and debris avalanche.
January 13: Boquete. Introduction to field geology and the Boquete landscape. Half day trip.
January 27: Jaramillo/Lucero. Plug intrusion/history of tectonics. Half day trip.
February 4: Boquete. Learn to read the landscape. Half day.
February 11: Jaramillo/Gualaca. The study of complex geology.. This is an advanced trip for people who have been on previous trips. Six hours. Four wheel drive required.
February 25: Exploration. Destination to be announced. Four wheel drive required.
February 28: Boquete local trip. Introduction to field geology and the landscape around Boquete. Half day.
All trips will meet at 8 am and leave from the Boquete Visitor Center. All trips are free but do require cars and drivers who are willing to take a few extra riders, if needed.
